Greetings to the students!
Since Biology is the study and characterization of living organisms and the investigation of the science behind living things, most biology courses will have core modules in the first year focusing on subjects such as cell theory, molecular biology, evolution, physiology, gene theory, etc. Having established some basic understanding of the core principles of biology, you’ll be able to choose an area in which to specialize. Options include: anatomy, biophysics, cell and molecular biology, computational biology, ecology and evolution, environmental biology, forensic biology, genetics, marine biology, microbiology, molecular biosciences, natural science, neurobiology, physiology, zoology and many others.
As the knowledge base in the Biological Sciences grows and technology becomes more advanced, the ability to think broadly about biology and to apply this knowledge across the boundaries of traditional disciplines will be a very valuable and powerful asset both in scientific environments and in life. Biology degrees are extremely diverse with biology or biological sciences many specialist subjects from anatomy to ecology and microbiology to zoology, the course options available for those interested in pursuing studies in biology are extremely wide-ranging. Today, broadly-based interests in biology are appropriate for a wide variety of career opportunities.
I congratulate all the students who have joined the various undergraduate courses of Biological Sciences at DSI. This institution provides highest level of professionalism in shaping the careers of aspiring scientists. The institution ensures that the students get globally relevant education system through which they can acquire competence and compatibility to achieve their professional and personal goals of life. Students who are motivated in multidimensional learning processes and contributions of their own selves and society are amply encouraged to achieve a “Sound Mind in a Sound Body”.
DSI promises to provide greater opportunities to develop not only academic but also non – academic development and make the students to be responsible citizens.
