Cultural activities are an integral part of students’ college life. Dayananda Sagar Institutions has a rich heritage of nurturing, nourishing and showcasing talents in the fields of cultural, literary and fine arts. Gone are the days when only academic programs were the only activities organised in colleges and all students focused on that. With the changing trend we have noticed a major difference in the field of academics too. Students don’t want to be bookworms; they look for other options that could help them in the future. Our institution has noticed the need for a separate department to handle all the cultural activities in our Institution which gave birth to the Centre For Performing Arts!

Aims & Objectives

The principal objective is the conservation, preservation and dissemination of the mosaic cultural legacy of DSI by implementation of multidimensional cultural activities and programmes.

  • promote opportunities for everyone to experience culture and develop their creative abilities
  • promote quality and artistic renewal;
  • promote a dynamic cultural heritage that is preserved, used and developed;
  • promote accessibility

Societies need a strong cultural life. Through its potential to move and inspire, culture contributes both to strengthening the individual and developing society as a whole. Art must be allowed to develop on its own terms and there must be scope for new perspectives on cultural heritage. Safeguarding culture’s potential to be a dynamic, challenging and independent force is therefore the most fundamental task of cultural policy. Society is to be characterised by a wealth of cultural expressions, irrespective of the area in which they appear. There is no obvious discrepancy between commercial viability and artistic quality or freedom.

VIBRATIONS-2K14

Vibrations-2K14 was a unique, one of its kind idea of intra-college fest bringing faculty and students from all streams. This fest was organised by CPA which provided a nurturing platform for students to showcase their amazing talents.

The main event was preceded by auditions in which as many as 400 students were selected to compete in 21 different events.

CPA has always believed in encouraging students to go out and live their dream by supporting art, music, dance, photography, theatre, fashion etc...
