The Pharm D Course was started in 2012 at Dayananda Sagar College of Pharmacy, a constituent college of Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI) with an aim to successfully implement the objectives of Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) towards meeting the growing needs and expectations of the patient, society and health care system at global and national level.

Pharm D students assist doctors, nurses, and fellow pharmacists in patient care at Sagar Hospital, a multi-specialty brand hospital in Bangalore. Pharm D students are involved in conducting continuous education programmes (CME) for medical and paramedical staff, not only to optimize effectiveness of treatment but also to prevent diseases.
The department covers a wide spectrum of activities like patient care and services including monitoring & reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADR) and drug interactions, patient counseling, ward round participation, medical history review, drug & poison information and clinical intervention.
The goal of department of Pharmacy Practice is to produce competent professionals capable of providing high level of patient care, services and assuring quality and safety for maximum patient benefit in present challenging medical scenario which will enable hospital pharmacists to be at the forefront of the Pharmacy profession in health care settings such as community, hospital, institution, industry, academia, and research and development.
Grants have been received from RGUHS and DST for conduct of seminars and Research activities.
